About Blue Spot Cask Strenght Irish Whiskey
Spot Whiskeys are lovingly crafted by the Mitchell family in the heart of Ireland from malted and unmalted barley. Naturally, they are triple-distilled using a traditional pot still at the Midleton Distillery. Blue Spot Cask Strength Irish Whiskey is inspired by the Mitchells’ family practice of marking the maturing whiskeys with different-colored spots according to their aging potential. The arrival of this expression marks the time that all the different Spots are available once again, after nearly 6 decades. Blue Spot spends at least 7 years in a combination of ex-bourbon, sherry, and Portuguese Madeira casks. The expression is bottled at a cask strength of 117.4 proof without chill filtration, making for a flavor-packed spirit

About Irish Whiskey
Contrary to popular belief that Scots invented whisk(e)y, Irish whiskey was mentioned almost a century before its Scottish brother.
Its origin comes from the perfume distilling monks who decided to tweak the recipe a bit, creating Irish whiskey.
Irish whiskey doesn’t have a lot of rules and regulations to be considered “pure” and can be made with various grains and processes, as long as it is aged for at least three years in wooden casks and has a max ABV of 94.8%.
